Halifax rock/roots group The Stanfields are set to host their second annual Blacktop Ball, featuring three days and nights of curated music, camping and beach. The music and camping festival will take place over Labour Day weekend 2016, and will bring folk ‘n’ roll to The Ponds, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Set on Nova Scotia’s sandy Northumberland Shore, this 19+ ticketed show is the brainchild of The Stanfields’ frontman Jon Landry and road construction veteran Orville Mason. The BYOB camping event will bring live music fans from throughout the Atlantic region and across the globe to the Mason Property. This year’s edition will feature The Stanfields, The Town Heroes, The Divorcees, Like A Motorcycle, E.B. Anderson & the Resolutes, Floodland, The Mike Bochoff Band and more.

We acknowledge the financial support of FACTOR and Canada’s private radio broadcasters.

The Stanfields are a multiple award-winning five-piece rock/roots band based in Halifax, NS. Known internationally for their high-energy, working-class music and dynamic stage shows.

The Town Heroes are Cape Breton’s alt-rock power duo crafting catchy, lyrical, hard-hitting and anthemic songs that sound like a party you wish you were at.

The Divorcees are known nationwide for their no-nonsense, blue-collar Americana with a Canadian edge. Moncton, New Brunswick’s The Divorcees are two-time ECMA award winners and have just released their latest album “From Labour to Refreshment”.

Like A Motorcycle is a four piece, all-female punk rock band from Halifax, NS combining intricate vocal harmonies set over a potent, high-octane squall of guitars and drums. Their debut LP “High Hopes” will be available internationally on Sept 2, 2016.

E.B. Anderson & the Resolutes combine Folk, Blues, Country, and Rockabilly to transport their audience to a time before genres, when music still stood for something.

Floodland is a four piece that take their sound and its delivery as seriously as their audience allows. Fluctuating from lyrically thoughtful complex ballads, through furious noisescapes and back to stripped-naked and earnest rockers, Floodland’s body of work is ever-evolving yet consistently unpretentious.

The Mike Bochoff Band are a pop-rock band based out of Halifax, NS that combines catchy pop melodies, thought-provoking lyrics with a live show known for its undeniably contagious energy.
